Highland Highschool Projects

Without joining any clubs or participating in any school-sponsored art programs, Peter’s rebellious high school years were not absent of participation. Peter wanted his voice, his vision in every hall through every possible project. This megalomaniacal ambition landed with the mixed results you would expect—after all, Peter was not yet AKAPAD and he was still a teenager. What broke through resulted in a level of attention that led to the award of Highlands Most Talented ’97. By senior year, the halls echoed with Peter’s ambition and love of the visual.

Here are the Highland High School projects of Peter A. DeLuca: mixed results, but not without drawing attention.

CLASSMATES AND CLIENTS

There is an odd connection we have to those with whom we attended school. Some save this remembrance for their university days, but for Peter it pulses back into high school—namely Highland Regional High School of the great state of NJ. Even to this day, Peter feels an obligation to these individuals to help when they come to him for help. This grace even extends to those individuals who leave the kind hand of AKAPAD (formerly Peter) high and dry with betrayal, broken promises, and—most tragic of all—owing money. I know, it’s a Greek tragedy. Regardless, the goal is forever this: do good work, do the work of a professional.

THE HIGHLAND HIGHSCHOOL CONTEMPORARIES OF PETER A DELUCA

The High School contemporaries of Peter A DeLuca are two individuals who fuel his desire to get better, to grow, and be purged by fire as a true rivaly drives you to. In this case it’s John Moriarty and BJ Trinadad two indivuals who blew Peter away when he first laid eyes on the work they were producing drove him to jelously, enough white rage to see his gap between what was natrual and what was hard work and how far you could take it. To this day don’t ask Peter if he is a natural or if he is gifted, he’ll deny every possible observation, to him it’s nothing but hard work the naturals were young artistd like BJ and John, and maybe these two gave him a complex he has yet to defeat.

AWARDS AND ACCOLADES

As a student who generally refused to participate in school programs or activities (well, there was the Audio Visual Club senior year) in the Black Horse Pike Regional School District, Peter channeled his artistic drive into projects that highlighted his skills in drawing. He aimed to elevate Highland Regional High School’s reputation in the arts.

These high school pursuits reflect a young artist’s determination to turn visual passion into something tangible and recognized, contributing to the creative legacy of Highland Regional High School in Gloucester Township, NJ, and inspiring others in the area interested in art, comics, or award-winning student achievements from that time.
