As yesterday shot in lightening into the ol’grey matter, today’s spark arrived while I was at the gym and there as my mind easily wanders. I would not get these Tom Ford Era Gucci ads out of my mind. It was not until I was running Tom Ford yesterday morning that a random video spoke about these Ads, and more specifically how sexy they were. This was an aspect of Ford’s time with Gucci I never explored and once I did I was shocked. Some of the Ads selected I had seen from time to time on different lists, and annuals but it never occurred to me that they were sexy, or I never saw them that way.

Once I searched out some of the Ads I saw on the video I saw how risky and ballsy they were and how aggressive they were. The limit for these seemed to be limitless. These images/ideas stayed with me all day, they lingered in my mind.

It’s easy to say sex sells in the age of degradation and social media. But here sex flairs up the imagination while fading social norms. Without the direction and artistry of what we see here the ideas presented wouldn’t resonate.

Thes Ads make me question does my work goes far enough, and as of right now, I would have to say it does not.
