This is a completely and super late post for X-Men which was May 13th when tickets for Dark Phoenix went on sale. Usually for Holidays or events like this I combine two characters that I feel fit perfectly well as a single entity or are completely ridiculous to even conceive of merging together. These drawings are always huge challenges for me and often lead to further development in discovering what the perfect solution is when smashing two characters together. In this case I started a piece and backed away from it when I realized I didn’t have a good enough point of view. I sat on the idea for a few days as I migrated this very website as part of another project and until I had something I thought was tangible and made sense.
The inspiration for Red Apocalypse comes from both characters that seemed to thrive in the 90’s Omega Red and Apocalypse.
