Comic Book Project
What began as a creative collaboration between two comic shop friends named Pete evolved into a complex journey of refinement. The Duck Sage (working title) has undergone numerous iterations since its original, childlike concept—a clear homage to Disney’s Darkwing Duck. Back then, the other Pete (not the Pete of AKAPAD.COM) was just a kid, and like many children, he was eager to express his imagination through art. In this case, it was a comic book—a common but vibrant medium for young creators to channel their view of the world.
As time passed, the comic book shop closed its doors, and with it, the friendships forged within its walls faded. Though bittersweet, this moment sparked a turning point for Peter A. DeLuca. Driven by unfinished dreams, Peter found inspiration in the potential of The Duck Sage, his Disney-inspired duck comic. What began as a childhood homage now fuels his creative passion, pushing him to reimagine what this floating idea could become.
No idea should be abandoned—especially in the world of comics, where every concept holds potential. The challenge lies in positioning the story, a hurdle that frustrates many creators and one few master. Here at AKAPAD.COM, we call this project The Duck Sage, but it’s only a glimpse of where this story and its characters could soar. This journey documents the persistence of nurturing ideas, staying true to oneself, and digging deep to uncover a story’s true essence and direction.
