Remember the promotion for The Flash? Well…..it’s happening again. But this time it’s for Deadpool 3.
As referenced in this video here are the Tweets/X’s, Instagram posts, and the celebrities (outside Edgar Wright) that went out to promote 2023’s Warner Brothers’ The Flash movie. Also observed is recruiting influencers to roll out validation of sorts across targeting a spectrum of audiences to which they have direct access. This style of marketing is less obvious when it comes to a hit or well-received movies since those criticisms are viewed as correct a seem less transparent.

What is up my AKAPADERS? What’s it like to be one of Hollywood’s best directors and yet still love the crack cocaine? This is Matthew Vaughn. Today, well, a couple days ago, he made a comment: “Deadpool 3 is going to save the Marvel Cinematic Universe.” We have to discuss this ’cause it’s an old trick and I almost fell for it.
Welcome back, my AKAPADers! We got some new subscribers, we got some new commenters and people. Thank you all for joining me on the channel. If you made it this far, maybe you can hit that like button and, you know, leave a comment, give me a thumbs up, or I don’t know, subscribe, because we do a lot of work here, people. But Peter DeLuca here, AKAPPAD69, say with me, known throughout the Multiverse, Philadelphia PA, and Europe as The Eclectic One. We changed it up there, just CU, you know, I got to keep things interesting. AKAPaders, thank you. So, we got to find a place to put this, AKAPaders. Do you guys remember The Flash movie? You remember that smoldering piece of garbage? Well, here’s the crazy thing: I have yet to see The Flash. I refuse to watch The Flash just because Ezra Miller is a trafficker. Ezra Miller is the type of person that should never be rewarded. I stand by my principles. I have yet to see The Flash. I have yet to do any podcast, any type of commentary, any type of conversation about The Flash movie outside of not watching The Flash.
So, during the rollout of this movie, we had a new marketing strategy given to us by the Hollywood marketing gods. And you had the likes of Tom Cruise give statements, right? Give, you guys remember some of these, Tom Cruise said that The Flash was one of the best superhero movies, Terry Crews said Flash was one of the best superhero movies, and the list goes on and on. And this is a part, it’s intended to be viral marketing, viral comments, and somewhat outrage advertising, rolled in by getting controversial celebrities to give definitive views on some of these movies. You know, The Flash, go to Tom Cruise, absolute genius, Stephen King, being as divisive as he is online, going on record. And this is all well-documented so you guys can kind of see where I’m going.
The Marvel Disney, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, got Matthew Vaughn, who really, when it comes to modern-day tentpole-like big movies, he’s right there, he’s like at of the newer generation, he’s like right there with Guy Ritchie. He’s not quite at a Michael Bay, Zack Schneider hype, because I do, you know, like I do enjoy everything that Michael Bay and Zack Schneider does, just because I love those big giant movies. But, no, they get a credible filmmaker, a new movie rolling out, and then, you know, the handshake agreement, make this comment, but it’s more like a pitch, and very similar to even Stephen King for The Flash, backing that movie, saying, “I don’t watch a lot of superhero movies, but The Flash is one of the best ones I’ve seen.” There’s like a desperate, you know, validation there. Matthew Vaughn, with or without seeing the movie, he’s only seen snippets of it, he thinks it’s going to reform the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
And you might say, “Pete, you know, like, money is no object, so what does he care about Disney money?” And right, like, he probably doesn’t care about Disney money, but he cares about Disney opportunities. And for him, you know, AR guy looks like is going to do very well. I hope it does because he is a fantastic director. And then potentially, you know, he leads into a Disney movie or some type of Disney franchise, maybe a Disney remake, very similar to Guy Ritchie, but he gets that Disney bank. And this is a little bit of how Hollywood works, one hand washes the other. Matthew Vaughn, trust me, at this point moving forward, and this is going to be a bold prediction, he’s not going to be the last individual to speak about Deadpool 3 in this fashion. We will get other directors, producers, actors, creators backing Deadpool three in a very similar fashion, the same as we saw with The Flash. And I’m not falling for it this time. I’m not saying that I don’t have faith in Deadpool 3, but I do not have faith that Deadpool 3 can save the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Please let me know what you think. Comment down below. Is this a ruse? Seems like it to me. Let’s go.
